		<description>Oops, you are correct.  Microsoft originally developed the OOXML format, and then turned it over to the Ecma International standards organization.  So it would make sense that they would want to continue to support OOXML. Thank you. So as not to confuse readers, we have decided to correct this in the original post, and keep these comments as the source of our clairfication. Thank you again.</description>

The ODF format was the first International ISO standard and was NOT created by Microsoft. Microsoft ramrodded the OOXML format through the ISO process and would like nothing better than everyone using their &quot;standard&quot;. One company should never be in charge of standard.
